A few things to know.
Which games work?
GGKeeper automatically looks for many games. Use Add if a game is missing. Detection of every game is not guaranteed.
Can I change the volume?
Set your preference in Settings. For an individual game, open Game settings.
Does it keep moving the volume?
No. The volume is decided during the first few minutes after a game launches and then stays fixed, so the game's own dynamics — the difference between quiet and loud scenes — are left as designed.
What if it feels off while I'm playing?
Press Ctrl + Alt + G (changeable in Settings) or Recalibrate on Home. GGKeeper remeasures using the audio playing now, and keeps the game quieter while it measures.
Can games be even quieter while I'm just chatting?
Use Chat mode on Home or press Ctrl + Alt + C (changeable in Settings) to keep the current game even quieter. Press again to go back. It is remembered per game and can also be switched in Game settings.
How does it change the volume?
It moves that game's own volume in the Windows volume mixer. While it runs, GGKeeper decides that value; when you turn it OFF or exit, your original value comes back. Your overall PC volume, other apps and your microphone are never touched. If you move the game's mixer volume yourself, your value wins and GGKeeper turns OFF.
A game is very quiet when GGKeeper is off.
That game's volume is still low in the Windows volume mixer. With GGKeeper OFF, set the game back to the level you want (usually 100%) in the volume mixer.
What happens when I turn it OFF or exit?
Volume fades back to its original level over about 3 seconds. If you raised the Windows volume while using GGKeeper, this may feel loud, so stop game audio before exiting if you are unsure. The × button hides the app to the tray.
Is it safe with anti-cheat?
GGKeeper does not inject into games or modify game files or memory. It lowers game volume through the same mechanism as the Windows Volume Mixer. However, it cannot guarantee how each game's terms or anti-cheat will treat it.
Does it record or send game audio?
It reads game audio on the fly to measure loudness, but never records, saves or sends it. Settings and corrections stay on your PC. The only internet access is reading this site's version number to check for updates; a tray notification tells you when a new version is available.
Does it change stream and recording audio?
Yes. Game audio you stream or record with OBS and similar tools gets quieter in the same way. With Chat mode, the game your viewers hear gets quieter too.
