Release notes
0.1.40-beta.1
Steadier per-game settings.
Fixed text that did not follow a switch between Automatic and Manual. Also fixed text jumping while the fader moves and switches flickering for a moment.
One game. One row.
Games such as VALORANT no longer appear as two rows in the game list. This fixes per-game settings and Chat mode having no effect on one of the rows.
Recovered on the next run.
If GGKeeper ends without restoring volume, the next run recovers the original. This fixes a game staying quiet while Home showed no adjustment.
Not tied to the mixer value.
While it runs, games reach the same level whatever their mixer value was. When it stops, your original value comes back.
A speech bubble for Chat mode.
It no longer looks like the volume icon. Home also shows fewer hints, only when needed.
The same result on any playback device.
Fixed loudness being measured too low on surround devices such as 7.1 headsets. Every game is remeasured once, never louder than before until then.
More exact follow-up.
Startup follow-up correction is now exact, and later launches can also strengthen it when audio gets louder.
Why it is quieter.
Home now tells you that a game stays quieter until its first measurement finishes.
Many more games, automatically.
Riot, Rockstar, DMM and Xbox app games, plus visual novels, RPG Maker-style and many other engines. Roblox, FINAL FANTASY XIV, osu! and more were added.
Adjusted at startup only.
Once a game is adjusted, Home says so. If it feels off, press the recalibrate key.
Even quieter while chatting.
Chat mode on Home, or Ctrl + Alt + C, keeps the current game even quieter. It is remembered per game.
Remove games from the list.
Any game can now be removed from the list, on either tab.
Quicker at launch.
Games that play sound right at launch reach their quieter startup volume sooner.
Stopping fades back gently.
Turning OFF, exiting or excluding a game fades its volume back over about 3 seconds. If you change the volume yourself during the fade, your value takes priority.
New version notices.
A tray notification and menu item tell you when a new version is available. Only this site's version number is read; nothing is downloaded automatically.
Quieter, sooner.
Startup follow-up correction reacts sooner and selects a stronger level for variable louder audio. Suggested is now 15%. Your saved volume preference is preserved.
Finding Minecraft, too.
Fixed missed automatic detection in some Minecraft Java games.
Follow-up correction only turns volume down.
After the initial correction, repeated louder audio can add attenuation. Quiet scenes and review completion do not turn volume back up. The app shows the maximum remaining review time.
Home, with matching margins.
The app’s volume adjustment surface now matches Games and Settings in width and spacing above the tabs.
A little more room.
Settings keeps its bottom buttons inside the panel. The Home preview now has the same spacing above the tabs as the other pages.
Your shortcut. Your way.
In Settings → Recalibrate key, press a combination and Save. Conflicts or failed saves keep your original shortcut. The default is Ctrl + Alt + G. Turn Automatic ON or OFF in the app or tray.
Beyond the intro.
Longer startup review can catch a loud movie after a quiet gap. Repeated louder sounds can strengthen correction; once review ends, correction stays fixed.
Recalibrate. Keep the correction.
Fixed correction returning to 0 dB after recalibration. Revised Suggested and the target range; changing the target now uses the measured loudness of each game.
Different games. A shared target.
Replaced mandatory fixed attenuation with measurement toward a common loudness target. Only the required reduction is applied; already quiet audio is not amplified. Manual settings are now visible in the game list.
Quieter games can finish measuring.
Improved measurement for games with quieter audio. Accepted evidence is retained across silent gaps, and the temporary startup attenuation gives way to the measured correction.
At home in English, too.
The app now supports English and Japanese. Choose English during installation to open the app in English. Switch anytime in Settings → Language.
Install once. Find it where you expect.
One installer, no administrator rights needed. Open GGKeeper from the Start menu and choose Start with Windows in the app if you want it. Settings and correction history are kept after updating or uninstalling.
Clearer manual settings.
While Automatic is ON, the whole manual area is gray and disabled. Labels, slider and background stay consistent in light and dark themes.
Find games. Adjust each one.
We’re expanding automatic detection. Multiple included games are adjusted independently. Switching games keeps the other adjustments running.
Before you try it
- Unsigned beta for Windows 11, 64-bit. Windows may show a warning when you install or first launch it.
- Many games are detected automatically. If a game is missing, select it with Add.
- Use Excluded for games you don’t want adjusted.
- The first sound, or sounds that take longer to measure, may escape attenuation.
- Turning OFF or exiting may restore a louder volume. Forced termination may prevent restoration.
Stop game audio and exit GGKeeper before updating or uninstalling. License texts and credits are on the licenses page.
Captured audio is not recorded, saved or transmitted. GGKeeper does not guarantee hearing protection.
